S&S, M8 gear driven 550G camshaft kit

Description

Horsepower cam for 114 and larger engines. On the S&S dyno a 114" Street Glide with a Stealth air cleaner and Power Tune dual headers with Mk45 mufflers was good for 120 HP. Camshaft & gear kit includes camshaft, drive gear and driven gear on camshaft. Includes all required bearings, o-rings and hardware. Gear drive cams provide improved valve timing accuracy and more mechanical sound, when compared to chain driven cams.

Note: This is a small base circle cam. Requires adjustable pushrods and heavy duty valve springs. S&S Recommends 558660 Quickee pushrod & cover kit and 565784 S&S .605" heavy duty valve Spring kit.
Note: For best performance it is, like with all performance cams, recommended to use a free breathing air cleaner and exhaust system.
Note: With each cam change S&S recommends their 583903 Precision tappet assembly set.
